I applied online supplying a cover letter, resume, and three references. I was contacted about the position about three weeks after applying. I was really excited about the opportunity for a couple of reasons. First, the mission really resonated with me, and I was looking forward to contributing. Second, I have a master's degree in IT and a master's degree in computer science along with years of professional software development experience including a few years at a Fortune 500 doing exactly what the job position required so I was sure that I would be an excellent candidate for consideration who could start contributing and ramping up quickly. My excitement quickly turned to disappointment when the IT person who I assume would have been my boss called and spent about fifteen minutes cutting me off with every question he asked saying he already knew all of that and then chastised me because he didn't like that I excluded graduation dates from my resume (I'm older and not a fresh college graduate so there are practical reasons for doing that). After being cut off for the eighth time, I eventually said that I didn't think things were going to be a good fit but that I thanked him for his time, and he hung up on me without saying anything else. The whole experience was surprisingly antagonistic. I certainly won't ever consider applying here again.
