The interviewer asked me multiple questions about my own personal philosophy of the criminal justice system and then interjected during every answer before I could finish. The interviewer also told me that my previous work experience was unfortunate and would not allow me to speak about any of my own experiences without correcting me. I was told that I was too idealistic for criminal work and that sometimes criminal defendants belonged in jail when I articulated my skepticism on the value of prison. I think that the interviewer thought they were being helpful, but their tone remained condescending throughout the process. I withdrew consideration in the program after the interview. While I do think that some units in this office are doing stellar work, I think that the values of the supervisor I interviewed with did not align with my own values, and I hope that this was not representative of the entire company.

Was reached out via email, for a teams meeting. The general tone of the meeting was very easy going, all people from the unit roundtable interview. Was super conversational and laidback. Overall, pretty good experience.
