      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Lemnis Capital in Jan 2024

      Interview

It was pretty long: a 10 min intro call, a first interview, a second, and a final one with the recruiter and the CEO. There are a few red flags about this company that made decline the offer they made me. Here they are: 1. They won't pay for your licensing exams until you pass them. They will also not pay you for your time studying. To my understanding, you lose your money if you don't pass them. Every other financial service firm pays for both of these things upfront. 2. There seemed to be a culture of drinking at this company, as frequent happy hours were mentioned during almost every interview or conversation I had with a current employee. As someone who rarely drinks and would rather bond with my coworkers in a different setting, I was put off by this implication. 3. They have a "harmony wheel" where you fill out how balanced you are in all areas of your life every week. I don't know if this was mandatory, but it still feels weird. Why is it a company's business how my personal life is? I prefer to keep my professional and personal lives separate. 4. The half base pay option is not livable and does not match up to the market for similar positions whatsoever. It is 24k a year plus commission, which basically forces everyone to be on the 100% commission track. This seemed sketchy.
