      Interview

Super nice and fast, it was a seamless process and everyone question I had was answered properly. Loved the growth opportunities spoken during interview. Asked about my interests and how it would align and saw opportunities to apply what I’m interested in as well.

The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Lendbuzz (Boston, MA) in Jan 2024

      Interview

The interview process was via a recruiter. I was quickly (within one week) put through three virtual interviews with General Counsel, CFO and two department managers. The interviews included standard background questions combined with what I was looking for in my next role. A few weeks later, my references were contacted, and I met with the CEO. The recruiter suggested that this final interview was a formality before an offer. Weeks went by with radio silence and the recruiter had difficulty getting any information from the company. Red flags were everywhere. Finally, I was asked to meet again with the CEO for a same-day interview. The interview felt like a solicitation for free advice on their current business practices but ended with a request for my salary requirements. Another month went by with no word or feedback and the recruiter telling me that this was the most bizarre hiring process he has seen in 20 years. The recruiter occasionally asked me if I had heard directly from them. I finally reached out myself for a status and was told they would get back to me shortly. Another week went by and I was presented with the lowest figure on their advertised salary scale despite my extensive experience and salary requirements. I gave a counteroffer and, again, didn't hear back for weeks. The recruiter had to follow up multiple times to finally get a response that they rejected by counter. I truly feel like I dodged a bullet by rejecting their offer. Beware.
