      Senior IOS Developer Interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Level Home (Tampa, FL) in Mar 2022

      Interview

I talked with an outside recruiter that was searching for Level. I had a tech interview which I thought went well and was invited to have FIVE more interviews. I was not told what would be in the interviews, just had to show up. In addition to the initial tech screen I had FOUR more tech screens varying in difficulty. But there was one tech interview that really bothered me. I was asked to write a full implementation for an asynchronous networking call. I don’t know about all of the other REAL developers out there, but this is something that is done pretty much once in an app and is not touched until there is a problem. I know the concepts of making a networking call in Swift, but the demand was unrealistic. Networking calls ARE NOT SOMETHING REAL DEVELOPERS DO DAILY, so they should not be code tested. I could have come up with a working network call not given the time constraint, but this is their idea of testing a real developer.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Given a set of API paths, write all the networking by hand. Totally unrealistic during an interview.
