After a pair of silly behavior and IQ tests that seemed like something you'd find making the rounds on Facebook, the process took 2+ months, mostly talking to outsourced recruiters. Finally spoke with who I think I would've directly reported to, who then passed me on to someone in HR. I wasn't asked a lot of questions about specific examples of where my efforts had led to a measurable business outcome, so I had to work those stories in. Process concluded with a form letter rejection and no further explanation, despite my requests on where I could've helped my candidacy.
By way of background, the best recruiting experience I've had was one where I was rejected. The company made it clear what their timelines where, where I was in the process, what would be expected of me at each stage, and what the objective rubric was that was being used to evaluate my candidacy. At no point did I feel like I was being pumped for information, effort, or insight that I could otherwise charge a client for. It was a disciplined, objective, transparent process that respected my time and preparation, and concluded with a phone call to provide a detailed explanation of why the company chose not to move forward with me.
Over a similar time period, Lightspeed's process was undisciplined, subjective and opaque, and yielded no insight about where I missed the mark at the end.
