Lightspeed Systems Student Safety Manager interview questions

One phone screen and one Zoom interview. The first person I spoke to in the phone screen was very nice. She mentioned my experience and how it connected to the role and was excited to send me to the next round. The second round was a Zoom interview with a man that also seemed excited about my previous experience and how well it aligned with the role. A week later, I got a no-reply email that they'd gone with an internal applicant. I specifically asked in my interview if they were considering an internal applicant and he said no.
