Most of the process was pleasant and what you would expect from a large company. The recruiter I spoke to for the phone screen was very pleasant, and the two team members who interviewed me over Microsoft Teams were both very friendly and engaging. The only misgiving about this company's interview process I have is that they asked for my professional references very early, before I had even had my Teams interview. I had to call my references and ask them to fill out a sizable survey about me, which I felt was sort of embarrassing. I had thought about asking this step to be deferred unless I got a job offer, but didn't want to be seen as difficult. I highly value my business contacts and don't like their time to be wasted like this. So from now on, I will be more firm about this. Lesson learned. With that one exception though, this company was pleasant to work with.
