It was quite a lengthy and drawn out process.
- 30 minute Recruiter screen going over basics of background
- Homework assignment, putting together a couple slides to outline a mock sell-in deck with insights for a LinkedIn product
- Onsite #1: Met with hiring manager & two members of the team. Relatively straightforward cultural fit and behavioral questions with a focus on stakeholder management and past influence on big business decisions.
- Given a case presentation prompt to present at Onsite #2. More involved assignment with a full market research plan and mock report
- Onsite #2: 60 minute case presentation with hiring manager and immediate team. I spent 35-40 min presenting and the rest for questions. Again, nothing out of left field, questions were meant to stress test your logic and why you presented things the way you did. This Onsite also included 2 interviews with marketing stakeholders.
- Onsite #3: Interview with potential direct reports, and one senior stakeholder (VP)
After the last interview they stalled for a couple weeks (other candidates going through the pipeline). I got an offer elsewhere and that forced their hand and unfortunately it was a no, citing light people management experience. Funnily, the original role I applied for was an IC role and in the middle of the interview process, the open job req shifted due to some internal shuffling, I’m told. So I probably would’ve gotten the original job, but the rescope hurt me. Nevertheless, built some great relationships along the way and the door is open for any future roles. Although the process was long (they can definitely be more efficient), it’s probably because of the rescoping that I ended up doing close to 10 interviews and 2 case studies, so I understand. Would definitely apply again if a suitable role opens up.
