I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at LinkedIn (Sunnyvale, CA) in Nov 2018
Interview
2 phone interviews(coding+problem solving skill)+on-site. Coding test is just SQL and Python, very interactive experience. For Problem solving interview, be sure you study the material the recruiter sent, very helpful instruction. On-site is 5 hours including lunch, almost everyone asks about AB testing, seems to be a heavy part of their daily job and interviewing criteria. One this made me a bit surprising and disappointing is the onsite tech/coding session. The lady asked me the exact same question as my phone tech interview, so I basically just repeat my answers again, and she told me that she is not familiar with python. I explained my code to her but she didnt quite understand, I can feel she is really not familiar with the syntax. And then she made a conclusion that my code doesnt work, and asked me to stop explaining. It is possible that I did not do a good job explaining my thought process/method, but there is no way I passed the technical phone screening but failed this one with the same set of answers. Other than this, the whole onsite experience is pleasant and I do feel the passion people working at Linkedin to make this product better its goal.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
personal experience, AB testing, why do you want to work for Linkedin, some business acumen testing
I applied online, got contacted for a 30-min HR screen call, then proceeded to a 1-hour Technical screen round. All the interviewers are very nice and professional. I did not pass the Technical round, because the role has much higher technical requirements than my skillsets. Technical screen includes 50% Python coding a Leetcode medium problem, 25% stats/experiment questions, 25% general ML questions. HR followed up with results in a personalized email and encouraged to reapply in the future.

Question 1
Experiment design question related to Simpson paradox
What are some ways to deal with class imbalance? pros and cons for each
Very clear and straight forward, but maybe a bit too broad. Would be better to be more focused on the area of expertise. Coding questions don't really make much sense for data scientists anymore, basic level yes but not hard coding questions.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at LinkedIn in Mar 2022

The interview process going fluently and all interviewers show their professional. They are giving you positive feedbacks while your interviewing and encourage you to think more broadly. I feel they even want me to be in the company more than myself.
Didn't pass data storytelling round, all other rounds has a strong yes.
