I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at LinkedIn (New York, NY) in Nov 2018
Interview
I was referred by a friend and in less than a week I was contacted by someone in the referrals team who interviewed me for 30 minutes by phone. He pretty much wanted to go through my resume and ask me questions about my past experience and motivation for working in LinkedIn and that position. In a week or so I got an email saying they were not going to continue with my process because other applicants meet a greater number of preferred qualifications.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at LinkedIn (Dublin, Dublin) in Sep 2025
Interview
First call with RH.
Second call with Hiring manager, mostly behavioural questions, but kindly wanted to know more about me, my experience and my motivations.
Then they sent me an exercise: a spreadsheet to analyse, using the findings based on this data to make an insightful presentation. Present it in front of some people to rate your presentation skills, plus behavioural questions.
At the end, on a Friday night, I received an email with the subject "next steps" and saying to call HR. Very disappointed to make the call to hear that there are no next steps and the process is over because they found a better candidates. Please use the subject of your email wisely!
