Interview
Interview process was very smooth - 4 rounds. HR screen > hiring manager > cross-functional round > CPO. Each round had different behavioral questions and was very straight forward. Unfortunately had a really negative candidate experience where progress was extremely quick early, then ghosted after the final round for weeks. You'd think that there would be positive momentum with each additional round, but it took three weeks before getting the generic "Thanks for your interest" call from HR. Honestly I would rather have gotten an email to tell me no if the decision was already made, instead of delaying and going through additional motions to gain false hope. In fact, I truthfully thought each round went extremely well, so it was really mysterious how we went from scheduling next rounds immediately to ghosting.
Hopefully this was just an outlier but this is a really big red flag for any prospective candidate to get strung along.

Question 1
- Talk about your background.
- Tell me about a time working with cross-functional partners.
- Walk me through a product you shipped.
Met with an account manager that got promoted into project management who asked very basic project management questions. As I explained my experience, she began to "school" me on the best to run projects and to gather requirements, and went on to explain why their way was THE BEST™. Overall, the call was very unpleasant. Reading between the lines, there sounds like a toxic relationship between the sales and project teams, and most of the project managers spend time doing cleanup from sales selling things the product can't do.
