I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Loblaw Companies
Interview
HR: Interview was brief and quick asked about your programming language etc.
In Person Interview: Good very good conversation with the hiring manager, but don't bs because the hiring manager knows their stuff quite well. Talked about ML algorithms that you have worked with, some projects you've done.
You'll be asked to do some tests: SQ(JOIN, group by where, clause) and basic Python Questions.
Unfortunately, no call back from HR or Hiring Manager regarding rejection (Only downside.)
4 rounds: Screen with senior DS, technical interview, quick call with HR, behavioral interview with senior team. The questions were reasonable, and the people were nice and supportive. Everything was virtual and spanned across a few weeks.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Loblaw Companies (Toronto, ON) in Feb 2021
Interview
The interview had 3 rounds-
1) First round with HR to understand if you align with the role. HR mentioned there would be another round with the Hiring Manager and a technical round at the end. The same day the HR called to mentioned there has been a change in the interview process and a take-home assignment will be given which would take about 3-4 days to complete and submit.
2) The take-home assignment was to be discussed in Round 2. The panel consisted of 2 employees or Data Scientists. They mentioned they would spend only 10 minutes on a take-home assignment which took 4 days. This did not make sense. After that, there were questions on SQL and a few on Databases.
After the interview, did not hear from HR even after following up. Got ghosted as they usually say.
