First screening interview with the Recruiter was disorganized and rushed. She was late for the call and didn’t know basic information about the role. The meeting with the Hiring Manager was worse - she was disengaged, looking outside to the hallway constantly, and did not have any specific questions prepared. Seemed to be a “go with your gut” type of interviewing style which felt very awkward. Weeks later I had to follow up with the Recruiter myself for updates. Glad I steered clear.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Loblaw Companies (Brampton, ON) in Apr 2024
Interview
I was approached by a recruiter, passed the HR screening and went to my interview with the senior Director. I had told them in advance that I did not too much experience in that particular field but that was not a problem given they were looking for the soft skills (my strength).
interview was very nice. The Sr Director was pleasant and seemed indeed interested in the soft skills. Only to be later rejected due to lack of hard skills. Go figure.

Question 1
Leadership Questions - How many people have you led, how many initiatives have you designed and led, etc.
Approached for a video interview with the leadership, but was told the interview is cancelled on the day of because of lack of qualification.
Interview was notified through a direct phone call instead of email, on which the HR directly asked for past salary and expected compensation.
Overall not a good experience at all, feels they don’t know what they are looking for and there’s a disconnection between the HR and business.
