I applied through college or university. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Loblaw Digital in Sep 2018
Interview
Met at a hackathon and had initial interview. Came to Toronto for round 2 . Met with head of software. Had a pretty standard interview. Recruiters take a while to get back to you but are very receptive when you email them a "hey what's up with my process?" type of thing.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
basic coding question and some behavioural questions
Total duration is 2 hrs long. In the first hour, there are three engineers in the team asking me some questions related to resume, my previous experiences and technologies that I used. Then one coding question, quite easy. Another is a SQL question, a little bit harder for me. Finally, some followup questions and introduction of the team and projects. Overall, the interviewers are very friendly. The second round is mostly some standard BQs.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Loblaw Digital in Oct 2018
Interview
I applied online and received a call from the recruiter. He said the process should take about two weeks. He scheduled a phone screening for me but it got pushed back to the week after, as the person had an emergency. And after the phone screening, I received a call from the recruiter 3 days after asking me to come in for an interview. I met with 3 people from the team and they asked me questions about my resume and few technical questions. After that, they asked me to do two coding problems on codepen or jsfiddle. After that, they did a whiteboard question with me and a short QnA session. They cannot tell me anything about the job or the team as they also don't know where will the new hires be working at. They told me the recruiter will get back to me but he never called me or emailed me back. I sent a follow up email a week after the interview, and still no response.
