I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Loblaw Digital
Interview
I was reached out to on LinkedIn by one of the internal HR recruiters. After a couple of phone conversations, there was an interview setup with the hiring manager. From the moment I got to the office I knew I didn't want to work there. The receptionist wasn't friendly at all. When the hiring manager came to get me from the reception area he struck me as standoffish and not welcoming. I tried to lighten the mood with a couple of jokes but it was crickets. Throughout the interview I didn't receive any positive feedback when I answered a question (i.e. a smile, head nod, etc.). It was also clear that the interviewer hadn't read my resume in advance of the interview (quite surprising given he was the hiring manager). After the interview I didn't hear anything from the recruiter and I never followed up because I had no desire to work there.
It was a 5 step process that had me facing 5 different people across different lines of the business. It was was a great experience and very focused on fit and culture
