      Labor Pool Interview

      Apr 19, 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Charleston, TN
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Lonza (Charleston, TN) in Nov 2012

      Interview

I first applied through the local career center and did a skills test and also was told to apply directly online. I was then contacted by phone (about a month or so later) and asked if I still was available for work and interested in applying, I was then gave a date for an in person interview. 3 people were present during the interview to ask questions and assess your answers. At the conclusion of the interview I was told they had more candidates to interview and they would contact me if selected. I got a call a little over a week later and had to visit their clinic or site for an industrial medical screening (blood work, EKG, stress test, pulmonary testing & hearing evaluation). Once those results were in I was given a date to start a week long orientation training group.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

They are mainly looking to see that you will show up for work as scheduled, can work for extended periods (12-16 hours per day) as necessary, can work in hot/cold climates, can follow procedures, are detail oriented (filling out logs and other paperwork), don't have unsafe habits that may occur in the work place and that you don't mind working a rotating schedule (swing shifts).
