Phone screener first w/recruiter who found me online. Less than a week later, scheduled me for a group interview at the store, where I sat in a circle with 10 other applicants and 3 team leads. The store manager remained in the background and listened in; appeared to be joined by a few other staff. They’d allotted an hour for the interview, but it ran longer and was rushed at the end because they had to open the store. They’d planned to test us but didn’t have time. After intros (state a fun fact about yourself) they had three questions planned (stress example; if you were a CEO; what makes our city different). It was a good group, and I’m sure many have gone on to testing. I am a lightweight in sales experience compared to all of them, and after 4 weeks I think safe to say I didn’t get past the group interview. I haven’t heard anything, and I followed up after 3 weeks to check in. I’m bummed because I studied hard for this so I’d know the product lines and company news. Did not get a chance to demonstrate any of that though. This was a cattle call, a quick and dirty housekeeping kind of atmosphere, and not a chance to sell your resume or any of your abilities.
