As an external candidate I was called in to interview with the Store Manager and the HR manager. The questions were very formulaic and were all "tell me about a time when you"... Important thing for Lowes: Internal or External candidates are judged SOLELY upon their answers to the questions. As long as you didn't lie on your application, fail the drug test, or have a felony conviction/warrant and you get a call you have equal footing with people who have vastly more experience. Lowes is self insured and this is simply to assist in keeping them out of litigious situations...

Straight forward normal interview had questions about how I'd manage x amount of team members with x amounts of experience. but overall very basic interview with only differing questions on management styles/policy guidelines.
They wanted me to drool a little bit but that's not my style so they dismissed me as a serious candidate. They also expressed concern that I would not "be happy" there even though I thought I would.
