I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Lowe's Home Improvement (Tarboro, NC) in Jan 2010
Interview
Walk in.. notify associates of your arrival. That person in turn then goes back to notify the human resources manager. She/he then conducts the interview consisting of 15 3-part questions regarding your previous work experience. Some are relevant, most aren't. It's all a very annoying process in my opinion. After the first interview, you're taken to another office for a second interview and then a drug test. Cotton-swab drug-test.

Question 1
Tell me of a time where you had to work together in a group but were unclear of the details. What did you do?
I interviewed at Lowe's Home Improvement (Zephyrhills, FL)
Interview
Rather easy interview process. There were only a handful of questions that were pretty standard for a retail position. When the interview was scheduled, I was told it was one person, but ended up being another person conducting the interview, which wasn't a big deal, but when you go in to the place it's nice to ask for the correct person.

Question 1
When was a time that you've gone above and beyond for a customer?
It was Easy and I was able to get the job done. It was a good experience and I had a great time. Questions asked were about my experience with home improvement.
Pretty easy interview. Basic questions about work history. What experience you have pertaining to the role. A few scenario questions about customer interaction and teamwork. Pretty much show confidence you can handle the job.
