I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Lucid Motors (Vancouver, BC) in Jun 2021
Interview
As a luxury Ev startup, Lucid Motors is in the growth stage. This means that they can't afford to make bad hiring decisions because people are the lifeblood of this organization and will work to further the mission. You'll likely have multiple 30-minute interviews with a variety of key stakeholders. A recruiter will work with you to set the days/times, but be flexible. Regardless of the role, you'll likely meet with 1-2 Managers, and multiple Senior Leaders (Directors/VPs) so everyone can weigh in on your candidacy.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Lucid Motors (Millbrae, CA) in Aug 2025
Interview
The recruiter seemed very friendly and helpful. I made it through 3 interviews and then was ghosted. I even sent a follow up email and got no response. I understand recruiters get busy and have a lot on their plate but after making it to final round interviews a simple decline email would suffice. But to totally drop the candidate seems very unprofessional.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
“Pitch to me why I should buy a Lucid car over any other EV.” - This was a final round interview question
Three rounds. One with the market leader of the studio, one with the director of sales, and one with sales analyst. Didn’t seem co-ordinated as the three of them would contradict each other. HR takes forever to communicate to you.
I applied online. I interviewed at Lucid Motors (Palo Alto, CA) in Jan 2024
Interview
I applied online through the Lucid Webpage and within a couple of weeks received an invitation to meet with the recruiter.
We set up a time to meet and she was a No-show. I emailed the recruiter 15 minutes after our scheduled start time and received a response that her computer had problems and she'd reschedule.
We then set up and confirmed a second meeting time. 45 minutes before our scheduled time the same recruiter emailed and said she was having problems with her AT&T Phone and may not be able to meet. I acknowledged and said I understand (even though there's Zoom, MSFT Meetings, set your phone to call using VoIP, etc.).
Four Business days later I received a generic "You've been passed along to the next round of interviews, please provide me with times to set up a Zoom meeting" email. I offered a Wednesday Afternoon, and the following entire five business days as available times."
After several follow-ups, I've been ghosted and have heard nothing from Lucid since.
I get that business priorities change, but unprofessional is unprofessional and a waste of candidates time.
