I was told there was a temporary vacancy at my local Lush store, so I put together a cover letter and handed it in, along with my CV, in person. The next day they called me asking to come along to a group interview. The interview was me with 9 other girls. We had to write our names on a name tag, and then have our photos taken so they could put faces to names later. We were asked what we knew about the company, so everyone shouted out facts as one of the supervisors wrote our answers on a poster. The manager described the company and its ethics, and then asked us to go around the group and say our name and an interesting fact about ourselves. We were then split off into groups of twos and threes and told to present a product. The products were a massage bar, an exfoliating scrub, a moisturizer and a cleanser. We also had to demo the product. After we had all presented, the supervisors went around and showed us how to properly demo each of the products. The whole process was very relaxed, and the manager and supervisors were funny and put everyone at ease. Everyone wore semi-formal outfits, such as a nice dress and cardigan. I was one of the quieter girls in the group, but I got a call back inviting me to the trial shift.
