      Marketing Specialist Interview

      Feb 9, 2022
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Luxury Presence

      Interview

Started interviewing in November, decided not to continue with the process in February. Very confusing and unprofessional interview process. The first few weeks were normal--phone screen, take home assignment, virtual on-site (3 hour interview talking to 3 different people). This all wrapped up probably in between Thanksgiving and Christmas, and I waited until January to hear back. I didn't think much of it because holiday season tends to be busy for everyone. They also asked for my expected comp and references way early on in the process, even before I'd completed the on-site. Didn't love this because I expect comp conversations at the offer stage. I also ended up reaching out to my references and ultimately wasting their time. I had a call with my hiring manager in January and was expecting either an offer or a rejection since it seemed like I'd gone through the whole interview process. However, the call very much felt like a temperature check where they asked how I was feeling about the company, if I was applying to other roles, if I was still interested, etc. I found this confusing because I wasn't sure what they were trying to get at. Then, they asked me if I was willing to do another 45-minute interview with someone who would likely be my manager. I said sure and tried to schedule a time via email. While emailing back and forth, the hiring manager sent me a different role (Content Associate) and asked if I'd be interested in that one instead. The timing of her question was confusing since I seemed very far along in the process for Marketing Specialist. Without saying whether or not I was interested in the content role, I asked pretty detailed questions about the specifics since it wasn't yet published on their job board, and I wanted to be able to make an informed decision on how to move forward. Before I heard back, I received an email from a different hiring manager thanking me for my application to yet another role (Freelance Content Writer) that I had not applied for. At this point, I decided to drop the interview process. It was a poor experience that reflected negatively on the company and showed a lack of respect for my time.

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Luxury Presence (Santa Monica, CA) in Nov 2021

      Interview

There was a screening with a talent recruiter. Then there was a project they needed to be completed for further consideration. The project was not throughly explained on what was needed. When I submitted they told me that I didn’t do it right, even after I emailed with follow up questions and never got a response from anyone they still disqualified me of no instruction or answering my questions. The worst process I had ever been through.

      Question 1

I never actually made it to the interview. They had me do a project for evaluation that wasn’t thoroughly explained on what was needed.
