While the interview process was typical and straight forward the company came off to me to be very untrusting. For example they asked for an unusually high number of references and needed to confirm my degree even before receiving an official offer. I found this to be very alarming for the level of position and not the way a talented professional would want to start off a relationship with a future employer. If they had concerns they never expressed them to me openly or asked questions. So in the end, the behavior of HR combined with that with the reason the position was open (infer as you will) became a red flag for me so I bailed on the opportunity. My recommendation to them is to be more transparent and RECRUIT talent not be suspicious and mistrusting with future applicants. If you treat people poorly during recruitment I can’t imagine what it would be like to work there....
