I received a system generated email from MISO's recruiting system telling me I was a match for this role. I updated my resume and applied online the next morning. Less than 8 hours later I received an automated "thanks, but no thanks" email from MISO. Absolutely zero human interaction through this process. This is my second such experience with MISO in the last year and the third position I've ever applied for with the company.
During my first experience, over a year ago, I was interviewed over the phone and in person for a different position; I did not receive an offer. The reason stated was that I was too experienced (code for too expensive) and hadn't held the exact job title in the past. At that time, the internal recruiter was communicative and quick to respond. I heard later from a contact at a local contract staffing firm that MISO had decided to outsource the position in order to find someone cheaper.
I've also attended several monthly AgileIndy meetups hosted at MISO and have observed that there's very little participation from anyone on the MISO team. The facility is rather fortress-like and there's not much positive buzz about MISO in the local IT community. I think there's potential, but their candidate experience leaves a lot to be desired.
