I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Macy's (Lexington-Fayette, KY) in Jul 2012
Interview
I filled out the online application which was fairly standard. Towards the end of the application there are repetitive questions that are the most time consuming.
I received an email the next day to set up an interview. I filled out the interview on a Monday, and I had my interview on Wednesday. I arrived about 10 minutes early, and I was the only one waiting in the hiring office. As I sat waiting I observed 3 different women pass right by me and not even one of them acknowledged me with a smile, or a greeting.( And they looked like managers) I thought that was very unprofessional. I also overheard one woman talking on the telephone saying that the 3:00 interview is here. The woman who gave me my interview was the manager for Better Sports wear, and it seemed like she gave me the interview because she was the only one available at the time. She had not even seen my application, or resume prior to our meeting. She had what appeared to be a standard job interview questions form. I was prepared because I had researched the possible question on Glassdoor, and Monster.com.
One thing that did annoy me is that before we even began the interview, I asked about what positions were available(besides the commission jobs) so that I would not waste my time applying for something that doesn't exist. Well after about 45 minutes of interviewing it turned out that those were the positions being offered! Also the dress code is all black, and you cannot work at another retailer if you are working for Macy's. Well I am, so I wasted my time for nothing.

Interview
The first interview is on the HireVue website. I was asked 6 questions. I recorded my voice responses. Later, I was told I passed the first round via a phone call from a company that conducts the second interview process. I was asked 2 questions. The last interview is in-person.

Question 1

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Macy's (Orlando, FL)
Interview
Virtue first. Then, at the store. Interview questions are not hard but hiring manager/s are sketchy. They posted part time positions but when I got into the interview they said their looking for people wanting full time job. So unprofessional to take my time.
I applied online. I interviewed at Macy's (Pittsburgh, PA)
Interview
Basic interview process. Applied online and was called in for an interview about a week later. Nothing crazy or out of the ordinary. No assessments needed. I talked about 2 managers.
