Interview
I completed an online application for a temporary retail sails associate (seasonal) and received an email asking me to choose a date for an interview. i logged on and chose a date the following day. I was instructed to go to a particular counter and tell them I was there for an interview. I waited about 5 minutes for someone to come and get me. My interviewer greeted me and shook my hand and then asked me some questions on the way to the interview room. This caught me a bit off guard but I think I answered them well enough based on what others had written here on glassdoor. He asked me why I wanted to work for Macy's and if I had any particular department I wanted to work in. I told him I thought Macy's was a good solid company and that I have always liked shopping at Macy's because they have great customer service and good products. I told him I'd be willing to work in any department. I was then taken to an interview room and my interviewer asked me some of the exact questions that others had listed on this site. I felt very prepared to answer them and the interviewer smiled and wrote notes on the paper he had in front of him. I had about 5 questions. He was very friendly and talkative and put me at ease.
He asked me if I was flexible on shifts and I told him I was. He said some shifts were mandatory in the upcoming holiday season and he told me which ones were mandatory. I told him I was very flexible. He also told me the rate of pay which was under $10 but I already knew that from the info that was posted on this site. He told me he was going to recommend I be hired for the position. He said that although I had not worked in retail in a long time, I was friendly and able to talk to people and that was a requirement for the job. My position wouldn't start until early November but I would need to fill in some paperwork and do some training before that which I could get started on right away. He told me he would call me that afternoon with times for completing the paperwork and I received a call approximately 15 minutes later.

Virtue first. Then, at the store. Interview questions are not hard but hiring manager/s are sketchy. They posted part time positions but when I got into the interview they said their looking for people wanting full time job. So unprofessional to take my time.
