I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Macy's
Interview
I came in to Macy's and the way they scheduled me I was to come in during normal hours but was asked to come in through the employee's entrance and the email was not very specific as to where the employee entrance was and then we were told to go to the HR department and there was not very good directions, the directions were go to the third floor and look for the white door. When I finally got to the HR/Executives office I came in and had to wait for 15 minutes before the manager who was interviewing me. When he finally got there he asked me a few questions like why I want to work at Macy's, how did you find out about your job opening, all questions they had asked on the application. The very last question he asked me was "how would you get a customer to open a Macy' card?" That was a completely unexpected question because he had not told me what my responsibilities were as a Sales Associate nor did the job description. Nevertheless I answered and he seemed to be happy with it and I was offered a job as a Flex Work Team associate which meant that I had to pick up hours every Sunday in order to work and that I got to pick what departments I work in. It didn't take too long to be interviewed about 15-30 minutes and then I was scheduled to come in and train and another day go to an orientation.

Question 1
How would you get a customer to open a Macy's Credit Card.
Was interviewed for a seasonal position. Was told they have no seasonal positions, once they found out I was a college student. Made no sense to me quickly ended the interview.
The interview process was straightforward and fairly quick. It started with a phone interview from a recruiter or hiring representative who asked general questions about my background, availability, and interest in the role. The tone was professional but conversational, and the interviewer focused on making sure I could handle a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
I had one interview with the store manager and it lasted for about 45 minutes. The interview was all standard behavioral questions. I was offered the job on the spot.
