I applied online. I interviewed at Macy's (Costa Mesa, CA) in Aug 2013
Interview
I saw that Macy's was hiring so I filled out an application online. The next day I received an automated email saying that my application had been received and that I was eligible for an interview. A link in the email led me to website where I could pick a day and time for my interview. The interview itself wasn't bad; the woman interviewing me could sense my nervousness and put me at ease with my cheerful personality. The questions were exactly the same as the ones listed on Glassdoor.
The most frustrating part was that I was allowed to interview when there were no open spots. The woman finished the interview by complimenting on how well I did and we began discussing potential work shift times. After that, she left the room to find the current schedule and open work times. She came back saying there was nothing open and I was left to wonder why Macy's even let me interview when there was no job opening.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Macy's (Orlando, FL)
Interview
Virtue first. Then, at the store. Interview questions are not hard but hiring manager/s are sketchy. They posted part time positions but when I got into the interview they said their looking for people wanting full time job. So unprofessional to take my time.

Interview
Basic interview process. Applied online and was called in for an interview about a week later. Nothing crazy or out of the ordinary. No assessments needed. I talked about 2 managers.
