I interviewed last year for an Omni channel product director role.
I had several 1:1 phone and video calls with the recruiter, hiring manager, and multiple team members this role would manage. I was then asked to create a presentation for a business idea I would pitch to improve the Omnichannel experience and business strategy.
I spent significant time creating the presentation. The presentation was to a group that the role would work with or manage. The presentation itself went well overall, although the hour scheduled with late joiners was not long enough. I was told that I would be updated on next steps within a week or two regardless of direction. Afterward I received NO COMMUNICATION WHATSOEVER.
Several weeks later I reached out to the recruiter to ask for an update and was told no decision was made yet. I was able to go on LinkedIn to see this title was recently filled by an internal hire, which the recruiter should have communicated to me.
How do you ghost a candidate that you ask to participate in no less than 6 calls and spend the better part of a day creating and presenting a new business idea?
Would not recommend.
