I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Macy's in Jul 2010
Interview
I applied for Macy's online and 2 weeks later i recieved an email saying that they would like to invite me to schedule myself for an interview. They gave me a link to access the Scheduling Center and i was able to review the available times and choose. During the interview I was asked questions such as why I wanted to work there, I thought the interview went well. After he finished asking the questions he said he had to speak to the manager to see what was available. When he comes back he apologizes and tells me that unfortunately there were no positions available at the time and they would contact me if they did. I was a little annoyed at the fact that they offer interviews even though there weren't positions available. I didn't understand the point of the interview, if it were the fact that i didn't meet their expectations I don't think they would lie about something like that, that would be unprofessional.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What would you do if you saw one of your co-workers stealing? Would you confront them?
Was interviewed for a seasonal position. Was told they have no seasonal positions, once they found out I was a college student. Made no sense to me quickly ended the interview.
The interview process was straightforward and fairly quick. It started with a phone interview from a recruiter or hiring representative who asked general questions about my background, availability, and interest in the role. The tone was professional but conversational, and the interviewer focused on making sure I could handle a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
I had one interview with the store manager and it lasted for about 45 minutes. The interview was all standard behavioral questions. I was offered the job on the spot.
