I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Macy's (Huntington Beach, CA) in Apr 2023
Interview
I arrived to my interview on time and was told my interviewer wouldn't be arriving for another hour. I waited over an hour and he still didn't show up. Finally, the receptionist did an all-call asking for any available manager to come conduct my interview. No one responded to her call, so she asked a random manager from menswear {?) to come. He barged through the door in a huff, clearly annoyed that he had to conduct an interview, after I had already been waiting an hour and 15 minutes. As far as the interview went, he barely made eye contact with me, read questions off a scrap of paper, made a sarcastic comment to me, and never saw my resume. The next day I was not offered the job. Good riddance Macys Huntington Beach. The store is a filthy, wreck, complete with graffiti and dead plants on the exterior. Why did I wait for the interview after the rudeness and unprofessionalism I was shown? I figured since I was there I'd at least use the opportunity to practice my interview skills. No way would I demean myself to work there. I was offered a job at Nordstrom 9 days later.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Macy's (Orlando, FL)
Interview
Virtue first. Then, at the store. Interview questions are not hard but hiring manager/s are sketchy. They posted part time positions but when I got into the interview they said their looking for people wanting full time job. So unprofessional to take my time.
I applied online. I interviewed at Macy's (Pittsburgh, PA)
Interview
Basic interview process. Applied online and was called in for an interview about a week later. Nothing crazy or out of the ordinary. No assessments needed. I talked about 2 managers.
