I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at MaintainX in Mar 2025
Interview
Was extremely surprised when initially hearing how extensive this process is. Have not seen any other companies go to this extent. I was about halfway through the full process and it took 3 weeks.
Had to reach out to the technical recruiter about unclear interview details and I got confirmation about the technical interview 2 hours before it was scheduled.
Hiring manager showed up 4 mins late and asked to take some time to send off some messages. Seemed like she was still answering or reading messages during the interview too.
1. Initial meeting with Technical Recruiter - asked general questions to make sure my experience fit the requirements of the role. Wasn’t expecting to show any work from my portfolio but was asked to discuss some work.
2. Interview with hiring manager - discussed my work experience and walked through portfolio.
3. Technical interview/“live whiteboarding session” with hiring manager and a designer - given some context about the product and onboarding process, asked to brainstorm and discuss ways to address problems.
-I did not get past this step, but highlighting the following steps for visibility-
4. Take home design exercise - would be given some assets to work from, but expected to come up with some designs and solutions based on the whiteboarding session. Should be formatted in a way to present to key stakeholders.
5. Panel presentation with CEO, CTO, Head of Product - present and share designed solution.
