Applied online for one role. Had a good very positive informal chat for an hour with one manager who seemed very keen to get me in for a formal interview and suggested they may have an alternative role. Formal interview was good, but it turned out they were interested in my more for another role so invited me for a meeting with remaining managers. At this point it seemed that this was a formality. During this interview learnt they had advertised internally and would wait outcome. Was not kept up dated with when I would hear anything without me chasing and despite them seemingly being keen initially. It would have been polite to update a candidate they had sparked an interest in. Around a month later after chasing finally responded they had gone in a different direction. I felt that I had been used to benchmark an internal candidate against. It would have been polite to keen a candidate up to date proactively having keen up around three hours of my time for interviews.
