1. I randomly got a call from a recruiter who wanted to go over my application details, which was kind off odd because I never applied for a position at management solutions. Turns out, that they received my CV from my university. I appreciate that my university sends out my CV to companies, nevertheless the MS recruiter clearly had not any idea about where the CV came from. Phone call was about 10 minutes about my degree, my grades and on where I want to start etc.
2. Afterwards, I didn't hear anything for a month, but I get calls from 2 recruiter in two weeks repeating the process described in step 1 asking the same question. Kind off odd as well. 10 min each.
3. HR-Interview with HR in Spain (online). Behavioral interview about my practical background, motivation, why MS, strengths, weaknesses. Interviewer clearly had no interest in my answers. Seemed like she does not really care what I was saying. I had the feeling that could either answer her questions in two words or 200 words and her answer could still be "ok". Really unpersonal imo and weird vibe. 40 min.
4. Manager Interview: Better than HR, manager was alright asking classical consulting interview questions (why consulting, why MS, my strengths), followed by small case (structure a problem and then a case). Interview was fair and not too hard, manager provided nice feedback as well.1h
5. Partner-Interview: Best interview in the process with the Head of Germany and another Partner. Classic Consulting questions and about my opinion about long working hours, nothing too special at first and nice vibe. Followed on by in my opinion kind off random technical questions (see below) and a small estimation question. I didn’t know the answers to some questions and messed some answers up to be fair as well. 1h.
Interview was fine and fair as well, however partner pointed out that he doesn’t know if they can hire me (if it should happen) because I was on exchange and I should be in Germany to come to the office for some reason?
6. After the partner interview I never heard anything of the company. I didn’t receive feedback if I get rejected or hired. Sent two request mails because I was in other processes as well and never got a reply to those as well. To be fair, given my messed up answers in the partner interview, I wouldn’t have hired me either probably, however an answer would be the minimum for an applicant in the final stage of the interview process.
All in all, the entire process was kind off weird and it seemed like none of the interviewers had contact with each other during the process or was really interested in my person. Moreover, I got asked in every interview if it would commit myself to “extremely long” (quote) working hours. Which is a fair question given that it is consulting but also kind of weird because it was pointed out in every single interview. I mean you don’t make good PR for your company that way if you don’t compensate these working hours accordingly.
