Awkward. He kept trying to talk me out of it. It was my first food service job going from childcare, but he hired me. After two days of working he did not call me to let me know when to come back in. I called him. He said, "Oh, you didn't get my message?" No. I did not get a message from you. He then proceeds to tell me that food service might not be a good fit for me and maybe I should go back to childcare. I had severe anxiety and OCD at this time, not to mention depression. Going out to get a job was hard enough. This crushed me. But eventually I found a nice family owned restaurant where they actually made all the food and I worked there for six years and they loved my work. Now I am in school for Social Work.
