The interview lasted approximately 30 minutes. I was interviewed by the Assistant Manager. She introduced herself and mentioned some of the duties that she was responsible for. She had a clipboard with a bunch of questions and was told that she would ask them in a randomized order. As such, during the interview, she was shuffling back and forth the different sheets of paper with the questions on the clipboard to show me that she really was asking them in a random order. She was also willing to share how certain components and computer peripherals would be used when it comes to troubleshooting problems in the different departments outside the IT Division.
About a month and a half later, I was notified by phone that I wasn't offered the position. The interviewer mentioned that she was looking for people with computer science degrees, a detail that was not mentioned in the job posting.
According to Human Resources, if a job REQUIRES any kind of certifications or degrees, it MUST be mentioned on the job posting. Once I've learned why I didn't receive the position, I filed an ICE comment in regards to the missing requirements listed on the job posting. If the interviewer didn't get into too much detail and simply answered "I found someone more experienced than you" instead of "I was looking for people with degrees" when asked why I wasn't offered the position, then I probably wouldn't have been too upset about it.
This position does have the tendency to re-open every 4 to 6 months, but considering the level of (mis)trust I had with the interviewer, I'm not sure how I would feel if I actually did work in that department.
