I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at MarketSource (El Paso, TX) in Jan 2015
Interview
First you have a phone interview, if you successfully pass that then the District Sales Manager will actually fly down to interview the candidates that passed the phone interview.
During the face to face interviews, you get about 45 minutes per candidate and the manager usually has at least five candidates.
The manager wants to know if you are the right type of person for the job, are you trustworthy and can you actually have meaningful conversation with a customer or potential stranger and how your past experiences align with the job.
If you pass all of that, then you have to show the recruiting manager that you can in fact do the job and you have to send in a video of you saying a few things dressed in business attire.
After that, before you can go in the field and actually talk about the product/company that you are representing, you have to go through several modules to certify yourself in the company/product. You have to go through a series of tests and quizzes before you can get the certificates.
