I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Marlow's Tavern (Atlanta, GA) in Jul 2010
Interview
The general manager of this restaurant was very nice and friendly. I did have to take a lot of tests, but it was well worth it. As I recall there was a test with some basic math, a personality test, and then the 1 on 1 interview. In the 1 on 1, he asked me basic questions to do with serving; 'what would you do if...' type questions. Very very straightforward and easy if you're competent. Just be confident, smile, and be outgoing, and they will love you.

Question 1
What would you do for a guest if they did not enjoy their food?
Called me last minute and was short with me during the interview. It was very impersonal and obvious she didn’t particularly care about me as a person. I probably won’t eat there anymore now that I’ve interviewed with her.
You have to know majority of the menu and how to describe certain ingredients that people may not be familiar with, your best bet is to study the menu, Be so much familiar on wine knowledge
