The application asked for my salary expectations, which I shared. They set up an interview and conducted an interview only to disclose to me halfway through that they were offering over 20% less than my listed expectations. The question should've been in the first email to gauge whether or not I was interested in moving forward. The interview itself was fine; I didn't connect with the woman interviewing me and they seemed extremely closed on remote work (essentially disclosed other folks were WFH, but I wouldn't be able to be because of the collaborative functions of the job—lmao).
