Where to begin? I applied to this role in early May after being reached out for it via LinkedIn Slots and didn't hear back re: my application until mid-June with an e-mail requesting a 20-minute HireVue video interview. Fair enough, I complete the interview as outlined. A few days later I send a follow-up e-mail to my point-of-contact at MMC who works out of a foreign office (since I was supposed to be updated on my status within 2-3 days). Absolute radio silence. A few days after that, I send a Tweet to the firm's official Twitter page asking for assistance which they obliged they'd get back to me. Nothing. A couple of days ago, annoyed and insulted, I send a follow-up to the first follow-up (3 e-mails by now) to the point-of-contact and the general Careers e-mail address. Still nothing. Finally, after checking the Workday platform, I see that my application status has been set to "Declined." Declined by whom? I received no rejection letter and no feedback on my performance. Nothing. My treatment by the HR staff/hiring manager only makes me happy that I wasn't selected because I can't tolerate complacency and incompetence in the workplace, nonetheless by a firm whose practices should be far more professional and responsive. I suppose the passive status update could have been exacerbated by my seeking informational interviews from HR personnel but any corporation worth its salt would welcome candidates' curiosities. I should've taken past candidates' negative (usually truthful) testimonies more to heart. I will NEVER apply to this firm again and won't speak positively of it anymore.
