      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Masimo (Irvine, CA)

      Interview

They do not really intend to hire for their open engineering positions. They just list them as open to get candidates to interview and get ideas from them. It gets even more clear when you ask them questions about their company and they barely share anything but get all the details from you as much as they can. One of the Senior directors smirked a lot which put me off and I decided not to go forward with the process after my 1st technical round stating personal reasons. The environment seemed toxic and also their automation did not seem as cutting edge compared to my present job. The hiring manager called me again and said that they were super interested after my 1st round and also because my profile matched really well with what they want. He persuaded me to appear for the 2nd round interview. I agreed and went ahead. Each round had multiple interviewers like the manager, team members, Director and Senior Directors. I was required to make a ppt demonstrating all my technical abilities and the projects I had worked on. They asked a ton of questions and I was able to answer almost all of them. They got a lot of ideas from me pertaining to IOT and were writing down everything I speak which seemed weird. Regardless, they later on called and said they were looking for something that I did not have a lot of experience in. What they mentioned was not even listed as a primary requirement on the job description. It was pretty clear that they were just looking for solutions to problems shared by most automation companies. Such a waste of my time! I should have just trusted my intuition after the 1st round!
