I was referred. First they reached out to me via email to schedule an initial HR phone screen interview time. First round HR phone screen interview - 20mins. Basic questions, super nice recruiter so no reason to be nervous (very friendly and conversational). They'll ask you if you have questions and you should definitely converse further with them and they'll be happy. It was mostly the recruiter telling me about the position, the company and the projects i'll be working on and how mathworks will help me out with everyone. It felt very welcoming and the recruiter certainly is there to help you out. Second round is hackerrank coding challenge (60-90mins within 1 week). Recruiter told me on the phone that Im thru to the next step which is the challenge, and if I make the cut after that, it's a final round phone technical interview. I havent done the challenge yet - will update my review here to let you all know how it goes.
