      Software Engineer Associate Interview

      Feb 25, 2022
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Mathematica in Nov 2021

      Interview

My first interview was over the phone with a talent acquisition specialist. After that, I was set up with a video interview with one of the senior developers on the team for more technical questions. The final interview was about two hours and was split between other members of the team, including the supervisor, and a final conversation with the TAS. I was provided a schedule for that third interview, and given the names of my interviewers ahead of time.

      Question 1

I don't remember a specific question, but I was asked about my SQL skills and knowledge.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Mathematica (Princeton, NJ) in Aug 2022

      Interview

The initial phone screening was around half an hour with some simple technical questions about object oriented programming and some behavioral questions about my previous work. Shortly after the final interview was scheduled. The final interview was about an hour and a half with three different engineers on the team. Very conversational with some relatively basic technical questions about SQL and .NET. Mostly focused on my previous work and personal projects. The whole process was smooth. HR was quick to respond and scheduling was easy. Overall very pleasant experience.
