I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Matic
Interview
One recruiter screen, three tech screens, one behavior al/management interview, and an onsite.
Most of the interviews were reasonable but the onsite definitely spend too much time on questions I had for them. Two of the five one on ones were spent just on questions I had for them. Felt a bit like a waste of time.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Material properties, injection molding basics, design process, whiteboard math.
Got an recruiter call, was a non-technical call that lasted for about 30 minutes and was just asked about my previous work experiences and soft questions, rejected after three days.

Question 1
Standard experience based questions, non technical.
I applied online. I interviewed at Matic (Mountain View, CA)
Interview
I applied through LinkedIn. A few days later, I got a phone screen and got rejected because I do not have one of the core skills in their job description.
The person who interviewed me had no idea how to conduct an interview. She spent 25 minutes of the 30 minute phone screening talking nonstop about the company. I was given almost no opportunity to get a word in about my qualifications. The next day I was sent a rejection letter.
After the interview I spoke with an old coworker of mine who was also scheduled to interview with this person, but she no-showed.
Before you think “you probably have poor communication skills” or “you probably weren’t qualified for the position”, you should know that I have worked for a wide variety of companies from FAANG to the space industry, and this is the FIRST TIME I’ve “failed” a phone screening.
