I had an initial call with a recruiter. While I was excited about the opportunity and the company, my call with the recruiter made me way less excited. There were a few issues that made the interview very awkward. 1) When I received a calendar invitation it was for a different role. I emailed the recruiter about it and they never responded. 2) The recruiter didn't share anything about the company or the role during the initial call. They simply said hi and then started with their questions. 3) I asked the recruiter who this role reports to and the team size. They had to look up this information to tell me. Overall, it was probably one of the most awkward interviews I have ever had and really made me way less excited about the opportunity after I put in a decent amount of time into my application.
