I applied online and got a response from a recruiter within a day or two. He was extremely nice and passionate about his job, so I got excited to move forward. My second round was supposed to be with a hiring manager, but instead, I was interviewed by their CPO. Honestly, I was surprised that someone so high up would get involved in the process so early on. When he showed up, I immediately felt disinterest; his demeanor was very cold and impersonal, and he certainly looked like he didn't want to be there. He asked simple and straightforward questions, but I didn't feel comfortable around him at all. It felt like an interrogation rather than assessing my product knowledge, cultural fit, or interest in the domain. He only left 3 mins in the end for me to ask him questions, and quite frankly, he wasn't able to answer anything I asked him about the role and the team. I don't understand this approach to interviewing candidates. The second round is supposed to be two-way - you ask me questions but also educate me on your product, responsibilities, and expertise that you need. Seemed pretty unorganized for a company with such a great mission
