I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Mayo Clinic (Rochester, MN) in May 2021
Interview
The interview process consisted of an initial phone screen with the hiring manager followed by a panel interview with six staff members. This step took about a month between scheduling and the actual interview steps. No follow-up from HR at the conclusion of this process.

Question 1
Interview questions were all behavioral and, unfortunately, not very direct. The panelists were clearly going off of a strict script which left little to be desired in terms of even attempting to make the interview flow smoothly. I felt like the way some of the panelists handled asking these types of questions was a little off-putting and really made me question during the interview whether I actually would have a positive experience working with these staff members in-person, let alone daily on Zoom calls. To add insult to injury, they didn't even bother to send a decision despite follow-ups saying I would be notified once a decision had been reached on the vacancy.

Interview
The interviewer asked me about my ethnicity in a very direct manner. I didn't think they could do that, nor was it necessarily relevant. Everything after that felt tense, and I felt like I was walking on eggshells the entire time.

Straightforward interview with several phone screens that were slightly more informal followed by a formal in person panel interview. Offer came a week or so later. Overall not that hard.
