BOH I was recommended by a friend and got the job on the spot, there was no interview process
i told my friend I needed a job and she talked with her manager and before he even met me they said I started that Friday and will be given the shirt when I arrive. if anything I was asked if I've had any experience working as a line cook and I said no because I haven't had any experience what's so ever, it was my first job.
As for FOH the manager who worked FOH liked how I worked BOH and needed help during the lunch shift and trained me so now I work both FOH & BOH
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at McAlister's in Aug 2013
Interview
Informal interview at a table where he and I just went over basic things you would imagine from a food service interview. Incredibly relaxed, no stress whatsoever. I wore my normal clothing and had a brief conversation, was pretty much hired on the spot. It's almost silly that I have to write this many words about it because I don't even think I said fifty words in the interview. If you have a McAlister's location nearby you could probably get a job there if they're hiring.
