I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at McKinsey & Company (New York, NY) in Oct 2015
Interview
Applied online but already knew people working at McKinsey and had interacted with recruiters during on-campus events. Note that they screen online applications by university so unless you go to a target school, applying online is useless.
First round was 2 interviews in their NYC office with a Business Analyst and an Engagement Manager. Standard case + PEI. After clearing this round, you need to select which office you would like to apply to (I hear that certain ones are harder to get than others based on your profile - NYC and Bay Area are more difficult I think). Second round was 3 interviews at the office you selected. 2 of them were standard case + PEI with Partners at the firm One was a more open conversation with questions about past experience and my resume with a Director. He was trying to sell me on McKinsey 10 minutes into the interview.
They were very professional throughout the entire process and really tried to sell me on McKinsey after giving me an offer. They've built a really great recruiting process. Ended up declining the offer to work in another industry because I didn't want to become a management consultant and these kinds of old-age jobs lacked the entrepreneurial environment I was seeking.

Question 1
Tell me about a time when you led a group that couldn't come to consensus on an issue.
I interviewed at McKinsey & Company (New York, NY)
Interview
A standardized test followed by 2 first round, 3 final round. Case-style interview. All interviews were done onsite in the local office. People were perfectly nice and recruiters coordinated everything. Overall, it was a good experience.
It is a difficult process, it is often not very clear what the exclusion factors are in the case interview. Behaviour interviews are as described on the website. Recommend being very familiar with their style of case interviews

Question 1
Tell me about a time you had to face and outgrow a challenge.

Interview
Application/Interview process: Applied online for a Business Analyst role through Glassdoor. Was invited to complete the McKinsey Solve online case assessment (a gamified problem-solving test, roughly 80 minutes). Completed it and received a rejection email about two weeks later, before any live interview stage. I requested them to share my test score and got a reply 2 days after that i scored a 10th decile and 537 points, despite this they didn't consider me for the HR interview round. This made me really confused and they refused to share any further information with me.
The real reason why they rejected me is still unknown.
